Passionate supporters of the actress are calling for that a person who breached a barrier and seized the actress during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.
A widely shared footage shows the individual from Australia shoving aside camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the actors made its way down a event pathway accompanied by fans.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the premiere by security officers.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "free after being detained", though official papers indicated that he was set to be present on the next day. It is not clear if he was formally accused.
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram account contains recordings of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney show in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the area last year.
"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user questioned.
Several supporters blamed Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed dealing with PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented one more response on Instagram.
Several fans also criticised guards at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while others demanded social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's videos.
In videos shared widely, Grande seemed startled when she was approached by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.
Grande has not commented on the event, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.
Many of attendees had congregated in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international debut in a Singapore mall, including a number who had waited for as long as eight hours before it started.
The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the follow-up of a dual interpretation of the acclaimed theatrical show Wicked, which centers on the surprising bond between two very different characters.
The musical itself is a adaptation of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.
They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning film of last year in the UK, and received a dozen award recognitions, earning two for outstanding attire and production design.
